"When I learned I needed a total hip replacement, I made every effort to try and find the best-qualified surgeon to perform the operation. Being a very active 67-year-old most of my life I had to give up most of my activities including 30 years of tennis as time went by. Walking and shopping even became a chore. Dr. Ramsey was the fourth surgeon I went to see and I knew he was the one after my first visit. Knowing the great outcome of another person, Dr. Ramsey operated on me and made me more comfortable with my decision. I definitely made the right choice. Dr. Ramsey, his assistant, nurse, and the staff at Conway Hospital were excellent. I have already recommended him to a few people who eventually will need a knee or hip replacement. Don't wait to have this procedure done. It will change your life. It's just been a month and I am getting better and better as each day goes by. Thanks to Dr. Ramsey and the staff at Conway Medical Hospital!" -- Marilyn G.
"I tore my ACL playing football. Dr. Tupis did my surgery. He and his staff were so vey kind and nice. I love to go to office visits. They really make you feel at home. I would recommend him to anyone that needs surgery. Thank you Dr. Tupis and staff." -- DeTrell D.
"My husband suffered hip pain that was limiting his ability to work and otherwise enjoy life. After visiting Coastal Orthopedics and being evaluated first by Dr. Preslar, it was determined that he needed hip replacement. Dr. Preslar turned him over to his colleague Dr. Ramsey. Without delay, Dr. Ramsey and his team studied X-rays and MRIs that had been done added some physical exams of their own and scheduled hip-replacement surgery. The surgery has been very successful and my husband was very quickly restored to activities and work. His treatment and care prior to, during and after surgery has been "top quality." The Coastal Orthopedics program from our first visit throughout and including hospital stay and care, doctors, nurses, any and all support staff, was more than we expected. We remember all with high regards and grateful appreciation. Tremendous thanks for a number one health-care program." -- Patricia and Floyd M.
"I broke my shoulder in April and continued to have pain in December. Dr. Elliot sent me to continue physical therapy for six weeks and I am in week three now, it is helping tremendously." -- Erika W.
"Dr. Tupis is one outstanding surgeon. He is very compassionate, caring, and with the highest professional standard of excellence. I was increasingly in trouble with daily tasks like cooking and showering. I had to forget even just chipping and putting practice in golf. This surgery has been like a miracle for me. The facilities were impressive with a team of very efficient staff members. This surgeon is beyond thanking." -- Peter J.
"From the initial meeting with Dr. Ramsey until now four weeks into the process, I could not ask for a more positive experience. The pre-op workshop with Ann Vennell lowered my anxiety. She has continued to be there for me and answered my questions in the hospital and by phone since I came home. I will recommend Dr. Ramsey and his staff especially Tasha to anyone who has to have knee replacement. Thank you all for making a hard situation an easier one!" -- Florence V.
"On June the 19th, 2012, I was in an auto accident. At the time I felt some back pain, but thought it was just a strain. I started feeling some discomfort in my right buttocks, and down the right leg. I also could not pick up my right foot and place in down. I then called Coastal Orthopedics and they gave me an appointment with Dr. Mills. He examined me, took X-rays, and after he reviewed them, he set me up with an MRI. The MRI shown some distressed areas of the 3/4 and 4/5 lumbar area. He recommended a treatment called ILIF. I gave it some serious thought and then approved the operation. I am only one month out of the operation and by back never felt better. No more pain in the right buttocks or leg. My foot now has strength and I can walk properly. I am very pleased with the results and thank the staff and Dr. Mills for his help." -- Dennis T.
"This was my second total hip replacement within the year 2012. My left hip was done in May and the right hip was done in November. My recovery from both surgeries has been remarkable with almost no pain and a very quick return to normal activity. My total hospital experience starting with all the pre admission tests, classes, etc. were very helpful and did much to alleviate any anxiety I might have had. The staff is caring, warm, and professional. I can and already have recommended Dr. Ramsey and Conway Medical Center to several others who are now patients." -- John F.
"Dr. Ramsey performed a right hip replacement. Dr. Ramsey did a wonderful job and it could not have gone any better. Great staff, great hospital stay." -- Charles O.
"My patient "relationship" began with Coastal Orthopedics in 2009 after experiencing sudden and excruciating pain in my left knee. I am a runner and the pain stopped my marathon-training schedule. I called Dr. Haskin's nurse, Jennifer, and she worked me into his busy schedule. He and Dr. Elliott treated me for degenerative arthritis and gave me advice on caring for my knee and being able to continue running. My next visit with Dr. Haskin was in 2011 to care for tendonitis in my right elbow. He treated it with a cortisone injection. During my treatment for "tennis elbow,” Dr. Haskin discovered carpal tunnel syndrome in my right hand. He repaired the nerve for me and I can thankfully say that within two weeks of surgery that I could "feel" the fingers in my hand again. I have experienced no problems with my hand since my surgery. Thank you, Dr. Haskin!
My most recent visit (Sept 2012) was the result of training for a half-marathon and developing Achilles insertional tendonitis in my left foot. While on a long run with my training partner, the pain started and became so intense that I could not run and could barely walk. Dr. Haskin was out of town the following Friday and Jennifer arranged for me to see Dr. Tupis. He provided a thorough explanation of the diagnosis, put me in a "boot,” and prescribed four weeks of physical therapy. My physical therapist requested six total weeks of therapy and he agreed. I am in my third week of physical therapy and am seeing positive results. While I won't run the half-marathon that I was training to run October 21, my foot will heal. And, I will be running again............soon! The staff at Coastal Orthopedics is professional and courteous. They make me feel at home and they genuinely care about me. Thank you, Coastal Orthopedics!" -- Wanda L.
