Patient Reviews

"I have had nothing but great treatment when I have been a patient at Coastal Orthopedics. Dr. Haskin is always so professional along with his wonderful physician assistant, Doug, and his nurse, Jennifer. Dr. Haskin not only has taken marvelous care of my hand and wrist but went way beyond in his advising me in other physical matters. I am extremely grateful to him." -- Pat L.

"My visit to Coastal Orthopedics was very pleasant. The staff was very nice and pleasant. I would recommend Coastal Orthopedics to anyone in need of the services they offer. Thanks to staff." -- Margie C.

"On January 3rd of this year, I cut my right thumb and it required 8 stitches to close the wound. I was referred to Carolinas Medical Center for x-rays, an evaluation, and sutures. Carolinas Medical Center did a wonderful job. After I was discharged from the hospital, I was directed to follow up with Dr. Haskin and Coastal Orthopedics. The process for becoming a new patient and getting seen quickly was smooth and easy. Dr Haskin looked at my wound and said very calmly, "You cut your thumb. You'll be alright." His bedside manor was wonderful. He made me feel as though I was his only patient and he truly cared about me.

When it was time to remove the sutures, the team at Coastal Orthopedics performed like a well-oiled machine. Thank you, Dr. Haskin and Coastal Orthopedics for a job well done." -- Reginald A.

"Plans change as fast as lightning at a bank in Conway on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. I was stepping back from the trunk of the car when my foot caught one of the concrete tire stops.  I fell backwards and my left arm and wrist took the brunt of the fall. In the emergency room, Dr. Tupis, with his kind professionalism, evaluated the x-rays and set the broken bones in my arm back in place.

The follow-up appointment was with the hand specialist, Dr. Haskin.  He strongly recommended surgery the next day!  His friendly manner made me feel comfortable.  It is my understanding that a titanium plate, screws, and donor bone were used to recreate my wrist.  After the operation, he took the time to tell us that the procedure went well. Nine days later, the cast was removed and I was able to see the x-rays, which showed the remarkable work performed by Dr. Haskin.  He sent me to therapy for exercises. At the six-week check-up, I was able to make a fist and turn my wrist to a certain degree.  I expressed my grateful amazement to Dr. Haskin.  He also took time to answer all my questions.Eight weeks on with the recommended therapy, my wrist is becoming stronger and I am gradually able to do more and more daily tasks. I could not have asked for better. Please pass on my sincere thanks." -- Vera T.

"I have been seeing Dr. Wilkins since 2009 when I fractured my back.  I have many problems because of this and still should require a fusion on my lower back according to Dr. Wilkins.  He has been very kind, considerate, and always concerned with how I am feeling, while keeping his sense of humor. He understands me after all this time and is always looking for a way to help ease my pain until the time comes for surgery. I appreciate the staff as well. They are just as kind, considerate, and make me feel part of the family. I value his opinions, his care, and his concern.

I recently had a problem with my hand, which ended with a visit to the ER.  It was suggested that I go to Dr. Haskin and then to physical therapy. The water therapy was greatly responsible for my hand and it’s healing. The antibiotics, the care, and concern again by Dr. Haskin and his staff. I have appreciated all that these doctors have done for me and don't just feel like just another patient while I am there.  I thank them for all their work and kindness in my time of discomfort and pain." -- Ms. Geoffry D.

"I am well pleased with the staff and Dr. Haskin Jr. They all treated me like I am special. I am proud of the outcome of my surgery. My finger does not lock up now. It feels good to open jars for my wife again. Thank you to all that had a hand in getting my hand fixed." -- William B.

"It was well laid out very well and everyone knew what they were suppose to do. I have nothing but praise for all the people that work in there. I am sorry I cannot name everyone that I met that morning, but they know who they are. Thank you to all involved." -- William B.

"I came into the office on a referral from my family doctor because I had a trigger thumb.  My finger was locking and was very painful to use.  Dr. Haskin recommend that I get a cortisone shot in my hand to try and relieve not only the pain I was having but the locking as well.  Dr. Haskin was up front and told me that it would be very painful but it should relieve my symptoms in a few days.  Although it was the most painful thing I have ever experienced, fortunately for me, it worked.  It has been about a month now and I absolutely have no locking or any pain whatsoever in my thumb.  Kudos to Dr. Haskin and Coastal Orthopedics for their professionalism and the outstanding work they do.  I guess the old saying is correct; no pain, no gain.  My thumb feels as good as new!!" -- Melissa T.

"While slicing ham, I cut the tendon on the top of my hand.  Being a nurse, I knew what I had done so I splinted the finger, ate lunch along with my family, then drove myself to the ER. Was seen and told to see Dr. Haskin the next morning—he saw me shortly after 9:00 a.m., and he did surgery the next day. I've never had any pain, except for the IV start. I started occupational therapy for 6-7 weeks.  Kellie was great.  I had lots of fun wearing the weird splint she made for me.  I have had a full recovery.  Everyone at Coastal Orthopedics is great. Wouldn't go anywhere else." --Brenda B.

"Since November, 2012, I have had knee surgery by Dr. Ramsey and hand surgery by Dr.  Haskin.  I cannot say enough positive things about these two men and their staff.  I would  recommend these folks to anyone!" --Florence V.
